The Padukka Regional Children's Council meeting for the New Year was held on 27/02/2026 from 9.00 am at the Divisional Secretariat Auditorium. Special attention was paid to the activities and objectives of the Children's Clubs in the New Year.
*Drug Prevention for Children
Mrs. Dulshani Mahanama, Drug Prevention Officer of the Education Division of the National Board of Dangerous Drugs Control, conducted an awareness program on preventing children from drug abuse, which is a social menace. It was further pointed out how to save education and future life from the magic of drugs.
*Vocational Education for Children
K. Samantha Peiris, Skill Development Officer of the Padukka Divisional Secretariat, informed children about the importance of paying close attention to the field of vocational education from childhood and the selection of subjects to prepare them for their future career and livelihood.
*Psychosocial Empowerment of Children
Since a strong child with practical and active mental health can be a gift to the society by socializing it, a successful citizen can be gifted to the society. Therefore, a program was organized to empower children mentally. Dr. Terence Athukorala and Vajira Shanthi, Psychosocial Counseling Officers of the Padukka Divisional Secretariat, strengthened the children.
