 The then Grama Niladhari of 458 A Thummodara, Mr. J.A.N.M. Jayakody, who secured the third place at the district level and the first place at the regional level in the 2023 Grama Niladhari Office Management Competition, was presented with victory tokens and prizes.

Mrs. H.S. Welisarage, Grama Niladhari of 461 Padukka, who secured the tenth place at the district level and the second place at the regional level, was also presented with appreciation trophies and victory tokens. Grama Niladharis who secured places up to 10th place at the regional level were also appreciated.

 The Cultural Council of the Padukka Divisional Secretariat met on 2026/02/11 at 2.00 pm at the auditorium of the Divisional Secretariat under the patronage of the Padukka Divisional Secretary, Mrs. H. Ashani Niranga Piyasumana. This was the first Council meeting of the new year. A number of programs including the annual plan and activities of the Council for the new year were discussed. Special attention was paid to how to achieve the goals.

Ms. Damayanthi Kumari, the Social Development Officer of the Padukka Divisional Secretariat, briefed the members of the Bala Mandala on how to achieve a successful social life through a conflict-free life and the development of good attitudes. This meeting was organized by the Cultural Officers.

A digital awareness programme with practical activities on digital marketing was held at the Isuruyaya Community Hall on 17/02/2026 under the Community Productivity Village Programme implemented under the theme of a prosperous village in conjunction with the CLEANING SRI LANKA programme of the Padukka Divisional Secretariat under the theme of a prosperous village in 458 C Dambora Grama Niladhari Division.

A practical training programme that includes creating a successful website for home-based businesses, attracting customers through ONLINE MARKETING and finding a modern market for the business.This was held with the aim of focusing on the economy, which is one of the main components of the Deya Nanwana Sapiri Gamak programme.

The resource provision for this programme was done by the SRI LANKA TECHNOLOGICAL CAMPUS (SLTC) University, a stakeholder institution in the area. Here, entrepreneurs from home-made handicrafts, cultivations carried out through organic fertilizer production, etc. participated. This programme was organized by Mrs. Bindhya Wickramathilaka, Productivity Promotion Officer of the Padukka Divisional Secretariat.

78th National Independence Day Celebration In conjunction with the glorious 78th National Independence Day Celebration, the Regional Independence Day Celebration was held on 2026/02/04 at the Padukka town center. This celebration, organized by the Padukka Divisional Secretariat, was held under the patronage of the Honorable Colombo District Parliamentarian, Honorable Chairman of the Padukka and Seethawaka Coordinating Committee, Mr. Chandana Suriyaarachchi.

It is special that four religious services are held on this occasion. The Buddhist religious ceremonies were performed by the Honorable Chairman of the Padukka Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandala, Most Venerable Yatipasgamume Vijithawansabhidhana Thero, while the Registrar, Venerable Brandigampala Hemawasa Thero, also participated. The Hindu religious ceremonies were performed by Venerable Balasubramaniam Maheswaran Kurukkal of Sri Muttu Mari Amman Kovil, the Christian religious ceremonies were performed by Father David Samathanam of St. Paul's Church, Liyanwala, and the Muslim religious ceremonies were performed by Mohammed Muneef Maulavi of the Galagedara Masjid Suheiliya Mosque. The event was attended by the Honorable Chairman of the Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha, Sunil Premaratne, the Vice Chairman and the Pradeshiya Sabha members.

The Padukka Divisional Secretary, Mrs. Ashani Niranga Piyasumana, delivered the welcoming speech. All officers including Assistant Divisional Secretary, Assistant Director, Administrative Officer, Administrative Grama Niladhari, Sri Lanka Army Menerigama, Padukka Police Station, Padukka Railway Station, Padukka Excise Station, Health Medical Officer Office officers and government institutions, as well as students representing Padukka Siri Piyarathana College, Bope Rajasinghe College and Galadera Junior College, participated. Dancers from institutions including the Uggalla Cultural Center also participated. Children from Padukka Siri Piyarathana Junior College exhibited paintings on the theme of freedom.
